A Seat at the Big Table

Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back.

In March 2021, I was excited to mark Women’s History Month by speaking on three women’s panels. I was out of my comfort zone but I’m also not one to shy away from opportunities and challenges.

I was very happy to return “home” and speak about Wanderlust at Manila House with two other Filipina travel advisers. The event was moderated by college classmate Bambina Olivares, who made me feel confident and at ease.

When T+L Editor-in-Chief Jacqui Gifford invited me to join her Evolution of Travel Forum, of course I said yes immediately. A former manager of mine once told me the secret of her success: “Never miss an opportunity to sit at the big table.” She’s one of my first clients and a big supporter of my business. In case you missed the forum, the recording’s available in the link below.

My last “gig” was speaking at my host agency’s 3-day “Book More Travel Workshop” where I was part of the Inspirational Panel. Over 500 travel advisors attended. I love belonging to this tribe where “Community over Competition” rules.

I’ve dropped the third installment of my 10-Day Tanzania Safari series - Eastern Serengeti. East and South Africa are open to visitors. I’d love to plan your safari when you’re ready.
